Below you will find trust news and information from some of the many events that have taken place to raise money for the Andi Bull Cancer Trust, should you wish to arrange a similar event please do not hesitate to contact us


 

Various members of Andi's family and friends completed either the 16 or the 26 mile Waendel Cycle on Saturday 14th May 2011. They raised the grand total of £1489.20. Several of the group completed the course by not putting their feet on the ground from start to finish and others walked up the hills and rode down! Every one of them had a fantastic time and felt a huge sense of achievement. Thanks to Dot too for combining the congratulation bbq with her birthday party. Well done everyone!!

Steve had a very busy couple of weeks, taking part one weekend in the Shakespeare Marathon (8th May 2011) and then.......being in the first three back of 'team Andi Bull' in the Waendel Cycle(14th May 2011). In total, he raised £ 501.20 for the ABC Trust! Well done Steve!

1st Mawsley Scout Group organized a sponsored bike ride around Pitsford Reservoir on Saturday 7th May 2011. They raised the wonderful total of £600! Thanks to Mary for arranging this and well done to all of you.

On Wednesday May 4th 2011, Lin was invited to Loake Shoemakers factory in Kettering to be presented with a cheque for £250 which had been donated to the ABC Trust as part of Loakes' Commercial Support to the trust. Loakes has become the first official commercial supporter of the trust - please see this page for more information.

Andi's friends and family all worked together to raise a fantastic £522.30 at two car boot sales over the Easter weekend 2011. A special thanks to those who donated their 'treasures' and to those who supported us by setting up, selling and packing away afterwards or by visiting us during the events.

Rob and James ran the London Marathon on 17th April 2011. Despite being footsore and a pulled hamstring, both completed the race and raised a fantastic £1315. Well done to you both!

Kirsty ran the London Marathon on April 17th 2011. She did extremely well, running it in a very respectable 5 hrs and 44 minutes! She was sponsored for the trust as well as another charity and has raised £1144.20. Not only that, she asked that the collection from the Glendon and District Scouts' St George's Day Service, which was held on the same day as the marathon, went to the ABC Trust! A very generous £258 was donated to the trust. Thank you to all the scout group at St Andrew's Church Kettering for making us so welcome at their AGM when they presented us with the collective cheque. Thanks so much to Kirsty for being such an active fundraiser.

Karen, a fellow scouter from Corby, who took part in Andi's Scout Guard of Honour, has recently celebrated her birthday with a big '0' party. She asked family and friends not to buy her presents, but to contribute to Andi's charity in honour of him and all the fun that Karen shared with him over the years at scouting events. She raised £420 to continue Andi's good work. Thank you so much for your generosity Karen.

The 17th Wellingborough Scout Group hosted the Wellingborough and District Scouts St Georges Day parade on May 1st 2011. They nominated the ABC Trust to be the recipients for the collection. They raised an amazing £210! Thanks to Alec and everyone concerned.

Some of Year 7 at Huxlow Science College in Irthlingborough completed a sponsored silence on Thursday 3rd March 2011. They raised a grand total of £100. Bet it was quiet in Irthlingborough that day! A huge thanks to Seb for organising this.

Rod held a dance instruction workshop in Romsey on 31st January for the uninitiated and introduced West Coast Swing to the participants. He raised £60 - thanks Rod, happy tapping!

Romsey Perfumery asked for donations in exchange for a fantastic gift wrapping service over the Christmas shopping period and raised an amazing £400! Thanks to Georgina for organising this.

The ABCT received lots of donations from friends of the trust who elected to make a monetary contribution in lieu of sending cards this festive period. Each and every donation is much appreciated so thank you to all of you!

Rob kindly donated a brand new TV, the trust didn't have an immediate use for it so we promptly put it on eBay and it raised £101.00! Many thanks Rob!

Alice(Ali) organised a collection at Freeman's Transport Rushden amongst the drivers and office staff and raised a total of £71.56. Thanks to everybody for emptying their pockets!
