Events & Trust News

Below you will find trust news and information from some of the many events that have taken place to raise money for the Andi Bull Cancer Trust, should you wish to arrange a similar event please do not hesitate to contact us

The Waendel Walkers club in Wellingborough has donated £500 to ABCT from walk fees, membership and special events which have taken place in 2020, despite the difficult times with a lot of their events and regular walks being cancelled. Thank you so much to you all.

Whilst fundraising is on hold we have still been processing applications as normal. We recently received an application from a young man who asked if we could contribute towards the cost of a running machine to help build his fitness which our trustees approved and the equipment was ordered.

We love to hear from applicants once they have their requested item, so we were pleased to receive the following:

'Sam was really pleased with his gift from ABCT. He has really been through a lot in recent months, health wise and the treadmill will help him to rebuild his core strength and self esteem'.

All the best Sam from the ABCT team :)

We may not be able to actively raise funds at the moment, we are still able to organise gifts to help those who apply to us using our online application form. Despite lock-down we were able to send a Fitbit to a young man last week and he received it directly from Amazon the following day!

We were also very grateful to receive feedback from the applicant promptly also, they wrote 'it really will make a difference to him and encourage him to get out and about'.

All the team at the Andi Bull Cancer Trust wish you well and hope you enjoy the Fitbit when the Covid-19 lockdown is over.

On December 5th and 7th, the ABCT support team attended the St Andrew's Church Christmas community event supporting local charities. We raised an amazing £218.50 selling donated books and a guess the name of the teddy. Henry won the teddy on the Saturday. Well done Henry!

Stuart at Inksanity Tattoo Studio in Northampton held a raffle to win a half day with him at his studio during December 2018 and January 2019 which raised a wonderful £250 for the Andi Bull Cancer Trust. Thanks to everyone at Inksanity for supporting this.

Sainsbury's in Kettering kindly hosted an ABCT fundraising weekend on December 21st and 22nd when the ABCT Support Team carried out bucket shaking and book sales. They raised an amazing £395.90 over the two days..

ABCT once again attended the St Andrew's Church Charity Event in Kettering over two days on December 6th and 8th 2018, raising a wonderful £203.70. Thanks to Chris and everyone at St Andrews for creating a fantastic event.

We were made aware that Rainbows in Loughborough were in need of TVs for their rooms to help distract and entertain children and young people who reside at their facility. They previously only had a few small portable TVs which were shared between many rooms, however there really wasn't enough to go around and as they were only small were often difficult for some residents to see clearly. The Andi Bull Cancer Trust gifted sufficient TVs and associated wall brackets to be permanently installed in each room within 3 days of the application being received and submitted to our board for consideration.

Kate Golding from Rainbows kindly provided us the photo right with a thank you note: "It was so lovely to meet you on Friday. We really can't thank you enough for the wonderful donation of all the TV's and wall brackets. Please pass on our thanks to all the committee for their generosity and speedy response to our application."

ABCT returned to the annual Higham Ferrers Classic Car Show on August 5th 2018. We hosted our automotive related raffle and also sold cold drinks and snacks raising £272.00 during the day. Thanks to the Rotary Cub of Rushden Chichele for hosting the event and welcoming us. Also, thank you to Santa Pod Raceway, Rockingham Speedway, Silverstone Circuit, Lokes Shoes, York Ward & Rowlet, Croyland Motors for their generous raffle prize donations.

The Andi Bull Cancer trust was very pleased to have been supported by Sainsburys Kettering as their charity of the year from July 2016 to July 2018. During this time customers and staff raised a fantastic amount of money totalling £8896.09 though sponsored events and donations. A massive thanks goes out to all members of the Sainsburys team who were involved in supporting us during this time.

A donation of £500 was given to the trust by Church's shoes in Northampton. The money was raised from match day car parking charges and other staff donations. Thank you so much to all at Church's and especially Laura who nominated the Trust

We were please to have been nominated to receive a donation of £50.00 from the James Mackaness Family Charitable Trust. Many thanks to all involved.

The Little Ale House in Wellingborough raised a fantastic £552 from a raffle held on 21st December 2017. Thanks to everyone but especially Alan and Tracey for organising the event.
